For several years, I’ve been photographing this part of the country. I’ve seen and experienced every season in the Teton range. I mean this when I say it - there is nothing quite like the fall.

During your time in this part of the country, we’ll be visiting a number of iconic locations as we home base out of Jackson, Wyoming. The furthest location we will explore is only a little over an hour from Jackson, so this workshop won’t be one where we spend half the day driving. You’ll have a real opportunity, curated by me, to create a full body of work from this location. We will focus on landscapes, but more than that - the story you want to tell from this region. You’ll have some prep work before you arrive to help you determine what your story will be.

  • Dave Herring's Building a Body of Work, a 3-day class, guides you through the process of storytelling. I personally was struggling with the HOW to tell a story in my work and recognized that I needed to workshop with Dave. If you look at your work and wonder how to take the next step, this workshop would be an excellent opportunity to discover what you have to say.

    Michael St. Claire

  • Dave was so generous with his time and knowledge. A true example of how supportive the photography community can and should be. Was phenomenal having him as a guide in such a vast and photogenic place. Highly recommend.

    Jared Weinstock

  • Spent a fun 3 days with Dave Herring’s photography workshop in Jackson Hole WY. While I wasn’t the most experienced member of the group, I never felt outside of my comfort zone. Dave created a fun learning environment to share his love of photography while teaching us how to tell stories in our photo’s. I’m a better photographer for having attended and would do it again.

    Bob Krueger

  • As an amateur / enthusiast photographer, attending Dave's workshop really up-leveled my approach to my photography in a number of different ways. I felt like I got insight into the secret formula professionals use to create work that is so much more impactful.

    Jason Hatfield

  • What a wonderful experience in the Tetons! Dave's workshop prep guide was thorough and spot on accurate. The effort he put into it boosted my expectations and Dave exceeded them over the course of 3+ days. My peers had diverse experiences and freely shared their gear, travel, and photography knowledge. This was one of the best workshops I've attended to date.

    David Swanson

  • If you're an older photographer (or just a photographer) that still enjoys going out shooting but know you need to be/stay safe, this workshop is for you. Sunrise, sunset, middle of the day, I felt safe in each surrounding I was in. Also the provided transportation was wonderful.

    Dawn D Hester

  • An awesome experience from both a photographic standpoint and from a personal standpoint. Dave has great presence and command without being overbearing or pedantic.

    Mike Bolles

  • Dave's workshop was incredibly educational in both how to be a better photographer and be a better person through photography. He's such a thoughtful man.

    Steve Denkers

  • Dave is exactly the kind of person he appears on the Youtube channel. A workshop with Dave will provide more clarity in your photography and will help you build a sense of community with a great leader and group of people.
